Course Descriptions
Accounting I
This course is designed to help students understand the basic principles of the accounting cycle. Emphasis is placed on the analysis and recording of business transactions, preparation, and interpretation of financial statements, accounting systems, banking and payroll activities, basic types of business ownership, and an accounting career orientation. Mathematics is reinforced and entrepreneurial experiences are encouraged.

Business Essentials
This course allows students to explore realistic business principles by examining the business environment and primary business activities. They will conceptualize ethics, customer relations, and human resource management through workplace scenarios. Investigate the usage of financial analysis, economics, information management, marketing, operations, and technology in the business world of the 21st century. Students will gain the knowledge and skills for careers in multiple business pathways.

Business Law
Only available for 11th - 12th grade students
This course is designed to acquaint students with the basic legal principles common to all aspects of business and personal law. Business topics include contact law, business ownership including intellectual property, financial law, and national and international laws. Personal topics include marriage and divorce law, purchasing appropriate insurance, renting and owning real estate, employment law, and consumer protection laws. English language arts and social studies are reinforced.

Business Management I
Prerequisite - Business Essentials
This course is designed to introduce students to core management concepts. Students will investigate how managers plan, organize, staff, and direct the business's resources that enhance the effectiveness of the decision-making process. Students will work through ethical dilemmas and problem-solving situations with customer service while applying academic and critical-thinking skills.
English language arts are reinforced.
Business Management II
Prerequisite - Business Management I
Only available for 10th - 12th grade students
This course is designed to enable students to acquire, understand, and appreciate the significance of management to business organizations. Students will investigate how managers control financial resources, inventory, ensure employee safety, and protect customer service data enhances the effectiveness of their decision making. Students will work through ethical dilemmas, practice problem-solving, and enhance their teamwork skills. English language arts and mathematics are reinforced.

Entrepreneurship I
Prerequisite - Business Essentials or Marketing
Only available for 10th - 12th grade students
In this course, students will conceptualize starting, opening, working for, and operating a small business. They will explore feasibility, design thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, and the Lean Canvas Business Model. Students investigate channel management, pricing, product/service management, and promotion. They will gain the knowledge and skills for careers in entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship II
Prerequisite - Entrepreneurship I
Only available for 10th - 12th grade students
In this course, students utilize business planning strategies to accelerate the implementation of a business idea. They will construct plans for risk management, staffing, and promotions. Students will develop a business plan complete with a SWOT analysis and action plan. They will gain the knowledge and skills for careers in entrepreneurship.
Marketing I
In this course students will implement dynamic marketing processes and activities. They will develop an understanding of marketing functions and their impact on business operations. Students will conceptualize a comprehensive marketing plan. They will gain the knowledge and skills for careers in marketing.

Sports and Event Marketing I
Only available for 10th - 12th grade students
In this course, student will explore sport and event industries, associated marketing strategies, and branding concepts. They will develop an understanding of promotion and marketing data related to sports and events. Students will weave together the concepts to create a proposal for a unique event. They will gain the knowledge and skills for careers in sport and event marketing.
Project Management
In this course, students will explore the principles, concepts, and software applications used in the management of projects from conception to completion. They will utilize project-based learning to exemplify the framework of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing a project in authentic situations. Students will analyze the core concepts of scope, time, cost, and integration. They will gain the knowledge and skills for careers across multiple pathways.
